A prominent role-player in the global management of protected Citrus varieties in Stellenbosch, is seeking the services of an individual to fulfill the role of Technical Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
Requirements:
A relevant BSc - / MSc Agric degree, preferably with Horticulture as one of the main subjects.
2-5 yrs relevant industry exp will benefit the applicant, but not ess.
A self-driven individual, who can operate independently and under pressure.
An individual with strong inter-personal & communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and execute all pre – and post - harvest trials in the RSA.
Analyzing of & reporting on all trials across RSA.
Close coordination with the plant material supply chain, nurseries, and prospective growers.
Regular nursery visits to ensure optimal performance of all plant material destined for trials and growers, as well as coordination of all tree orders.
Regular technical visits to all associated growers to ensure the optimal in field performance of all plant material.
Provide sound technical advice to growers in need thereof (pruning, tree manipulations, irrigation, fertilization etc.)
A specific technical role within an associated citrus farming project in a prominent citrus producing area, in the Western Cape.
