Position for Optometrist Urgently Needed
Job Description
A busy optometric practice in Phuthaditjhaba, Free State (about half an hour drive from Clarens & Harry Smith), is looking for a full time Optometrist that will be responsible for the vision screening, patient care and practice management.
Description
Perform thorough routine eye inspections.
Identify patient’s visual alertness, field of vision, and hand-eye coordination.
Diagnose sight problems, such as nearsightedness and color blindness.
Prescribe corrective lenses and medications.
Maintain accurate medical files for all patients.
Promote eye health by teaching patients about proper eye care techniques.
Identify and assess eye defects and diseases such as diabetes and liver failure.
Record all diagnosis and treatment plans including transfers and therapeutic prescriptions.
Regular feedback to practice owner

HPCSA registered
At least 5 to 7 years experience as practising optometrist linked to strong retail environment
Solid leadership skills .
Strong operational drive
Excellent communicator
Customer service skills
